To Write a Policy Brief using following instructions:
First, select one of these issues and questions.
Second, research this issue/question and develop an argument in response.
Third, write a 7-8 double-spaced page policy brief (approximately 1750 words) not including the
cover page and bibliography.
You are free to select any response to the issue/question that you feel is appropriate. You will not be graded based on whether the instructor agrees with you or not. The purpose of the policy brief is to convince the target audience of the urgency of the current problem and the need to
adopt the preferred alternative or course of action outlined and therefore, serve as an impetus for action. The policy brief will be marked based on its clarity as well as on the quality of the
information and analysis that it provides. It will also be marked based on the extent of the research demonstrated, the quality of the writing, and how well you convince the audience of the
case you are seeking to make. Grammatical errors will be penalized and should be avoided.
