Marilyn Monroe was the ultimate symbol of sexuality and femininity and will always be considered a legend for not only her talents as an actress, but for her beauty inside and out as well.

1.    Marilyn’s Career and Personal Life
-Discovered when she was 19 years old working in a factory by a photographer and signed up with a modeling agency
-She bleached her hair
-Signed a contract with Century Fox at age 20 then changed her name to Marilyn Monroe (Monroe after her grandmother and Marilyn after actress Marilyn Miller)
-Fox rejected her after a 6 month contract
-Rehired in 1948 and went on to star in 30 movies
-Famous for: The Seven Year Itch, “Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend”, singing Happy Birthday to the President

2.    Marilyn and Adversity
-Born on the wrong side of the tracks in Los Angeles
-Almost suffocated by her grandmother as a child
-Lived in orphanages
-Married young to get out of the orphanage, married Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller, had two miscarriages
-The Blonde Bombshell
-Suspended for being late
-Rumored affairs with JFK

-Marilyn’s insecurities

3.    Marilyn as a Legend
-August 5, 1962, Marilyn found dead of an overdose, no suicide note was ever found
-1995, UK’s Empire Magazine voted her Sexiest Female of All Time
No. 8 Movie Stars of All Time
-1999, Playboy Magazine names her as Number 1 Sex Star of the Twentieth Century
-Timeless beauty and contributions to fashion


Marilyn Monroe was one of the most talented, beautiful women to ever walk this Earth.  I believe everyone can learn a lot from her attitude on life and strength in the face of adversity.


Summary: Marilyn Monroe had a difficult life, yet learned to overcome it and go on to become one of the biggest legends in history due to her unrivaled looks and personality.
