TV show “You’re Hired”,
This assignment requires you to write a 1000 word original advice to the following scenario:-
For the finale of his TV show “You’re Hired”, Simon wants the boy band No Direction to perform their latest single live on stage and agrees to pay each band member £250,000 as he knows the popularity of the band will mean their appearance is guaranteed to provide good publicity , raise viewing figures and advertising revenue worldwide.
He is aware that Payn, one of the band members is unhappy and as a good will gesture and in the hope of making him feel more settled says he will give Payn and his fiancé Terry a gift of a weeks holiday in the Maldives after the show. Unfortunately Payn sings poorly and forgets the lyrics to the single and his performance attracts negative comment in the press.
As a consequence Simon decides not to give Payn the gift and gives it to Larry, a fellow band member instead.
As Simons legal advisor advise him whether Payn will be able to sue him under the law of contract for not giving him the holiday as he promised.
In order to secure a mark in this range, a candidate must submit an outstanding answer that could hardly be bettered. In addition to the criteria identified below , for a mark of 70% or above the advise would show an excellent level of understanding and critical/analytic skills
